Tallinn was possibly my favourite stop on our trip. It is
stunning. There is no other way of putting it. It is like walking around in a
fairy tale village in the old town. Cobbled streets, towering roofs, lots of
green trees and medieval houses. The walls of the town are still intact in
places from when they were built and is made to feel all that more magical
because the people who live there embrace the fact they still have medieval
buildings by walking around in garb from the time the town was built even to get
you to go and have a drink in the old town square. What’s more is they seemed
really proud of their heritage and were so happy to tell you about the town in
the olden days and urged you to ask questions about it. Its small and quaint,
very friendly and Amber jewellery can be found everywhere.
I would go back to Tallinn anyday. The atmosphere was so relaxed prices were really reasonable, especially after Norway. I could quite happily find myself lost in thought in a courtyard overlooking the old town, drinking tea in the old town square and watching everyone walk by or listening to the music and song sung in the streets on harps and guitar. Put it on your bucket lists people! Tallinn is a daydreamers paradise.
