Top Of The Rock - New York

Day One was mainly traveling down to Heathrow and then getting to the Hotel by which point it was 3am UK time {but only 10pm NY Time) so it was an ‘early’ night. Though sleeping through the night would never really be an option and we woke up at 3am NY time expecting it to be our usual 8am UK get up.

So day two began after a delicious breakfast at the hotel when we wandered out and brought tickets for the Gray Line for 72 hours with access to 3 attractions of our choice. My first choice was always going to be Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Centre, I am a bit of a sucker for a good view and because we went so early in the morning there were no queues to go through so it took very little time to get in an elevator and up to the 67th floor. Viewing areas are located on the 67th, 69th and 70th floors and the views are fantastic despite not being as high up as the Empire State building, but you can get fantastic views over Central Park.

We had tea from Bouchon across from the complex and spent the rest of the day sat on the tourist bus not expecting it to take as long as it did and then went for dinner on in the Hard Rock Café Times Square before getting an early night as we were starting to suffer a little from our lack of sleep from traveling.
