OOTD: Kerkira

New Look crochet top, H&M Shorts, Topshop sandals, Michael Kors bag, Ring from Santorini, Accessorize Rings, Topshop skull bracelet

I wore this to go into Corfu Town for the evening while on vacation it is the perfect outfit for exploring I nearly lived in those Topshop sandals and loved them so much I've been back to get another pair in tan, they are so comfortable for strolling the city. The New Look top was perfect to dress the outfit up a little and the perfect thickness that I wasn't too cold or too hot.

The Reluctant Wanderlust

So if you follow my profile on Bloglovin you will see that a new blog popped up a few weeks ago. I am going off on the adventure of a lifetime to Australia in September and figured setting up a blog to document my adventures would be a good way for me to remember it and for my family and friends to follow them.

I thought ‘The Reluctant Wanderlust’ was a brilliant name for it really as I have always wanted to travel more but have been reluctant to because society tells you that you need a steady job, get a house and mortgage and settle down to have a family and kids but I have never really wanted that to be my life. The world is a big place and I want to see it.

This will mean this blog gets pushed to the way side really now as I won’t be able to take a great deal of clothing with me but I will probably make sure my outfits feature in the posts occasionally. Hopefully when I get set up with a job I can treat myself to some clothing items by Australian designers! If any Aussies read this please leave me recommendations (brands, designers, places to eat and places to visit, I like to get a feel for the local culture when I can. It doesn’t matter if it’s maybe off the beaten path if I get chance I will try to see it).

If you want you can visit my travel blog here and be sure to follow me on Bloglovin and GFC so you don’t miss a post. I’m always happy to receive comments so come have a chat too if you like.

OOTD: Floral

H&M Dress, Asos sunglasses, Primark belt, Primark shoes, Michael Kors Watch

I'm so glad I discovered this dress the day before I left for Corfu. It is the perfect dress for vacations for both day, night and as a beach cover-up. I wore it at least 3 times while I was there and spotted two other holiday goers with the same dress, though we all styled it differently. Its lightweight too which means it doesn't take up loads of space in my bags (or wardrobe), which is becoming an increasingly important factor to my clothing. Especially since I am going to be taking my traveling one step further soon.

Gouvia, Corfu, Greece

My hotel was located in Gouvia on the north east coast of Corfu. It was located around a gorgeous inlet which made the water perfect for swimming as they were so calm and a harbour so I could watch the boats come back in the evening from my sun lounger (hard life right?). The village was mainly filled with bars, restaurants and gift shops but the beach at my hotel was the perfect spot to feed the fish and for watching the sunsets turn the clouds orange .

OOTD - Lolalo

Asos backless top, Topshop baxter jeans, Warehouse Clutch, Carvela sandals

I can't believe I haven't posted this yet! I wore this outfit a few weeks back when I went out with Alana from work. We both wanted a chilled night out with no pressure to drink, though that got thrown out the window at about 11pm after a few games of pool. We ended up at Lola Lo's which is actually a really good night out. I think its based on a tropical theme (tiki maybe?) as cocktails are served in novelty glasses, the bar is made to look like its built from bamboo and they scent the air with coconut so you wake up with pleasant smelling hair the next morning.

OOTD: Oh, What A Life

River Island hat, Warehouse blazer, New Look Dress, Asos Over Knee boots. Michael Kors bag

I'm noticing that I'm starting to buy from a wider range of shops now and actually I am loving it. I feel it gives my style a bit more diversity rather than looking like a brand wannabe/obsessive stalker. I've got a busy month this month with a wedding (not mine), hen party, lots of a wedding prep, lots of meetings, work, a night out and visiting someone that I'm not actually sure when i will get time for myself over the next month. I'm hoping to do a couple of trips to London in August though to get some "me" time and meet up with a possible new friend I made over Instagram to explore the Columbia Street Markets which will be amazing as I have wanted to go for a while now. Oh, What a life!

Travel - Corfu Town, Corfu, Greece

So here is a little visual collection of Corfu Town from my visit the other week. I loved meandering the little streets and taking in the atmosphere which completely changed in the evening from the day. Everything about the town is beautiful from the cobbled streets to the Grecian architecture, the bright florals brightening up street corners and vintage looking mopeds parked on the street. I hope you enjoy the post, its a little photo heavy.

Travel - Corfu, Greece

Kalispera from sunny Corfu! I'm currently on a weeks vacation to this beautiful Greek Isle and I needed it. I didn't actually know how much I needed it until the second day in, when it was clear that relaxation and contentment have been so far out of my life for a while that when I thought I was relaxed back home I really (really) wasn't. I knew I had been becoming a little pent up ball of rage, frustrated with everything and getting so wound up by little things at the snap of fingers but coming here I feel so zen.

Wish List - June '14

I’m always excited to go on holiday. I love the excitement of visiting somewhere new but I also love planning my wardrobe from my vacation. Which shoes go with most of my outfits, what will be cool (or warm) making sure everything goes with more than one thing in my wardrobe. The last few holidays I have been really lucky with cruising from Southampton or having a massive luggage allowance (thank you British Airways) that I have been able to take loads of stuff with me. I’m off to Corfu soon and this won’t be the case as much. So off to Gok Wan myself a capsule wardrobe I go.

So today I just thought I would share a wish list of things I have been looking at getting (or have gotten) to take with me on my holiday.  I recently got myself these New Look Heels after seeing a pair on ASOS I liked but I actually prefer these for the extra touch of heel. I've been having a few problems with ASOS sizings lately so most of what I have tried of theirs I have sent back, in the Midi dress I ended up getting a UK4 and it was still too big! Anyone else been having trouble with their sizings?

OOTD: Summertime Sadness

H&M Shirt, Topshop Vest (under shirt), H&M Shorts, Converse Sneakers, Primark Bag, Michael Kors Watch

I have been such a bad blogger lately. I'm running around like a mad-woman trying to prepare for my next few adventures (more on those soon). This is probably my favourite go-to summer outfit. to me it is all things functional and breezy. I've never had a pair of shorts I love as much as these that I got from H&M a few years back, the second the sun is out so are these shorts. Even on really hot days these are great for keeping me covered and cool If I'm running from place to place.

The shirt is also a favourite of mine and again a H&M buy from a few years back. It has a lace panel across the shoulders so its extra breezy on top, made of thin material that you don't really need a vest under and a lower back than the front. I wear it with Jeans too for a evening look with some strappy heels.

What is your go to summer look? Link me!

Shop My Closet: May 2014

I'm once again selling on my eBay trying to raise some funds for my holiday and as part of my 14 for 2014 I wanted to de-clutter a bit so it's giving me the perfect opportunity to get rid of some clothing, shoes, perfumes (all new), bikinis, bags, cuddly toys and jewellery. yon can find my eBay profile here and if you have any questions you can either leave them here or message me over eBay. I will post abroad if anyone is interested in items and can combine shipping.

OOTD: Cooler Than The Red Dress

H&M Jacket, New Look Dress, Dorothy Perkins Shoes, ASOS Ankle Bracelet, ASOS Bag, Michael Kors Watch, Kate Spade Ring

I hope you all had a wonderful bank holiday weekend. Long weekends are always great unfortunately for me my working week isn't affected by bank holidays other than the sudden masses that are all off work and school. Tonight I am off to Mancester to watch Avenue Q with my friends. I'm really starting to love Mancester and could see myself moving there one day I've never really felt like a small town girl so the appeal of the big cities just pulls me.

I love this New Look dress, as your can probably tell since it has already been in a couple of outfit posts this year. It is just so great to wear in all weather with boots or heels and easy to accessorise. Hopefully I'll get a lot of use out of it this summer.

OOTD: Some learn to fly, some will run for their lives...

H&M Dress + Leather Jacket, Dorothy Perkins Bag, Primark boots

I can’t even talk about how much I love these Primark boots, I've had them re-heeled already and had to stick the sole at the front back to the bottom of the shoes as it was coming off I don’t think I have ever loved a pair of boots more. If I am ever in doubt about what to wear I always find an all-black ensemble is always the way to go. No worries about colours clashing or prints not quite harmonising it always looks chic and effortless.

OOTD: Casual Weather

H&M Jumper, Zara Vest, Topshop Coated Leigh Jean, Converse Trainers, Michael Kors Weston Satchel,
Michael Kors Watch, Asos Mirrored Sunglasses

On Sunday it was International Mothers Day {the UK celebrates Mothers Day in March} and I took my Mum on a 10K charity walk for the National Memorial Arboretum around their grounds. Needless to say the British weather wasn't all that great but we had fun, got fit and raised some money. I wore this outfit when I went to London at the start of April when the weather was playing nicely and Saharan dust and European pollution was blowing over the capital so I decided on layers.

I always feel that I can style casual jean looks so much easier than going out looks, I suppose it has something to do with I am much more comfortable in jeans. I'm definitely a throw it on kind of girl.

Hair Review: NanoKeratin Smoothening System

So last weekend I had the NanoKeratin Smoothing system done on my hair and I thought I’d do a little write up on it. It’s designed to smooth down frizz, recondition and make hair more manageable, apparently the worse the condition your hair is the more you see and feel the effects. It isn’t a straightening service so if you are considering having it or something similar keep this in mind, so if you have curly hair you are still able to wear it curly. My hair is dry and damaged on the ends from all the bleach I had on them last summer and without straighteners is really fuzzy.

The process took just under two hours to do and you have to maintain it for 3 days after without rinsing your hair, getting it damp {this includes steam so a shower cap is essential} and it must be kept straight so if you wake up with a kink it needs straightening out. You aren’t allowed to tie your hair back at any point during the three days either.

I wrote down my thoughts on the process during and after so you get an idea of how it feels for me.

During the process;
The process seems really simple; my hair was washed 3 times with a special shampoo and then rough dried until it was bone dry. My stylist then sectioned off my hair and applied a small amount of NanoKeratin solution to my hair and combed it through to make sure it was distributed evenly and then left it to develop. Then the product was blow-dried in giving my hair a little of its normal volume, though not as much as I would have liked and each section was straightened 8 times. This was probably the worst part as it burnt off excess product and became a little smoky, so my eyes got a little watery when my stylist did the bits around my face. My hair feels really soft already completely different from the dry ends I’m used to and I don’t feel like I have product on my hair which is a good start to the three days.

On day three;
Honestly my hair feels really gross but then why wouldn’t it? I haven’t been allowed to wash it. I am lucky in that my hair doesn’t get greasy too quickly but I still feel desperate to wash it. It’s looked very flat and poker straight for the last two days at least but I’m just excusing it as a Spring-Summer 14 trend. On washing my hair for the first time with the special shampoo and conditioner it still feels pretty lank and definitely lacking my normal volume. The shampoo didn’t lather up much so I found I needed to do tow shampoos to make it feel half clean. The condition does feel better it feels less dry and after just rough drying my hair I can already tell its drying smoother and I have a lot less fuzz than I normally would.

After one month;
My hair is still drying really smooth with very little effort, the volume has returned to what it was before so I am still using all the same styling products to create volume but thankfully it hasn’t flattened it. My hair still feels softer than it did before having the treatment which I am grateful for as I was getting a lot of damage and because I don’t have to straighten my hair as much now I’m suffering a lot less heat damage than I used to. I’ve gotten used to the shampoo as it still doesn’t lather up but if I leave it on for the 2 minutes required once I have dried my hair it still feels clean. I love the conditioner for NanoKeratin as it is so light but my hair feels incredibly conditioned when it is all rinsed off.

I hope if you are considering this treatment after reading this it gives you an idea of what is involved.

OOTD: Mint Summer

Warehouse Hat, Primark Dress + Belt, Oasis Shoes, Michael Kors Watch, Kate Spade Bangles.

A few weeks ago my friend had a little photo shoot for some girly bonding time. She is getting married in the summer and wanted all of us bridesmaids to have some fun together and memories and this is the outfit I wore. It was a really fun afternoon and we got some amazing shots. I'm really not comfortable in front of a camera, not that you can tell from these shots but it was a really fun experience. Currently I'm sat down planning holiday time and writing to-do lists. My weekends seem to be vanishing and the year seems to have gone with them. I looked at my 14 for 2014 and realised I haven't even started doing most of them yet, oops.

Shop My Closet: Depop

So normally when I do a Shop My Closet post it is because I am selling on eBay but this time its because I have signed up to Depop. I'm still having a mass wardrobe clear out and I will still list things on eBay but I really just need to get rid of stuff so I figured its a good  idea to have them up more than one place. If you are on Depop follow me here.

I first found out about Depop on Instagram when blogger Chiara Ferragni (aka The Blonde Salad) was promoting it on her feed so I signed up and sort of forgot about it for a while. Recently though I've been getting really annoyed with eBay so when my work colleague said she was selling on it I thought I'd give it a go. Its very simular to Ebay in that fees are 10% of your total sale (Yes including on postage, cheeky beggars) but you don't pay anything to list your item and your item stays live in a format a bit like Instagram. People follow and like your items like Instagram too, you set your price but I have found a lot of users will ask if you can do it cheaper so know what you want for your items and which you are willing to deal on.

I don't know whether its a good idea to just list everything on my blog as well in case anyone wants anything. Do you use Depop? Where would you normally find new fashion finds? If you know somewhere I can list to help me sell these items please let me know. I think it will help if I can figure out cheap ways of posting worldwide so if any UK peeps know how you do it so I can investigate.

OOTD: Spots

Topshop Total Look

I have found some old OOTD's that I haven't posted yet so I figured I'd put them on since I have been really lazy lately and haven't taken any so I'm going to try to set a day aside soon to do that. Life is still as busy as ever I'm trying to sort out what lies in my future and I normally always factor everyone else in before myself so I need to sit down and take everyone else out of the picture and decide whats best for me, I'll be honest its a scary thought and I've been procrastinating on this for a while now. Watch this space.

14 for 2014 - New Camera

So one of my goals for this year was to get myself a new camera. Don't get me wrong I love my Powershot but I really want to get serious about my photography so I figured getting a DSLR was the right move this year. I've barely been using any of the automatic settings on my Powershot for a while now too the only problem is sometimes I feel the zoom is a little slow for me to get a shot quickly enough so the manual zoom on a DSLR again appeals.

I've been doing my research and looking at different brands but to be honest I am a Canon fan so I think I knew it would always be one of their cameras. I decided to go with the 700D in the end, I had been toying with the 600D at the start of the year but the flip out back and touch screen persuaded me to move up to the 700D. I really want to get into making more videos as well this year as an addition to my photography, trying to document life in a different way I suppose.

So far I have taken it out a couple of times and I'm enjoying the added flexibility a DSLR gives, it is really lightweight for a DSLR but it still is a bit of a pain to carry around by the end of the day. I still need to get used to a lot of the features and discover where everything is but because I have always used Canons it is coming to me quite quickly. I think for the high end of a beginner DSLR it fits everything I need perfectly. I got it with the 18-55mm lens but I am thinking I will expand into other lenses soon so recommendations will be appreciated.

Review: L'oreal Serie Expert Volumetry Shampoo

I tried out this shampoo as I had run out of my usual moisturising shampoo and decided I needed to switch up my routine a little. I normally go for a moisture based shampoo because I had longer hair and a lot of colour on the ends but since having it all cut off 2 months ago I figured that I didn’t need to continue with it. My hair has always lacked the volume I would like so trying a volume boosting shampoo was my logical step.

I really like this shampoo as it has a pleasant fragrance and feels lovely and light on my hair and better yet it does actually boost my hairs volume, and keep it. My hair feels soft and light without being weighed down by product, my roots feel lifted and each hair strand feels smooth and free of fly-aways. The shampoo has quite a gel like look and I have found that I don't need to use a lot of it and although I know it has nothing to do with how well it actually cleans your hair it foams up nicely to spread over the hair easily and making my scalp feel really clean.

The price isn't too high to say it is a salon brand product I got mine for around £8 in a store in my hometown which for a 250ml bottle I wouldnt want to pay regularly but feelunique.com has the 1500ml salon size bottles which are more cost effective if you liked the product and wanted to invest in more {I have a feeling I might be}

OOTD: Think About It

River Island hat, Christopher Kane for Topshop tee, Oasis Leather Skirt, Marks and Spencer Tights, Topshop Arabel2 Boots

Happy Birthday to me! I'm getting older but not necessarily wiser, I am however thinking more about where I want to go with my life as I am getting older and how I want to live. I'm trying to stick with my Buy Less, Choose Well resolution for my birthday this year so I have asked for money so I can put it toward something special and asked my friends not to buy me gifts but take me on days out, the first of which was earlier this week {in this post}.

April is probably the time when i really start to make my bug choices and changes, I don't know whether its because it contains my birthday but it always seems that if I put my mind to something in April I stick to it so I'm excited to see what comes of this April. Whatever you are doing today I wish you a good one!

OOTD: Coffee?

New Look dress, Warehouse cardigan, M&S Tights, Office Boots, Mulberry 'Tillie' Bag

The weather took a turn for the cold again last week but I was determined to wear a dress to meet my friend for coffee as really spring weather should be here by now. I'm still trying to wear these boots from office I brought them last September but I have funny feet and it basically takes forever to wear in any shoes I find that actually fit my feet half decently.

I'm off work this week and am hoping to get some rest but at the same time I am trying to keep myself busy, Hopefully my family might be going away for the weekend this friday which will hopefully give me somewhere new to explore. Today I am in Stratford with my friend Mem checking out all the town and brushing up on our Shakesphere as it is the 450th year celebration of his life and works. I'll post a photo diary up soon for anyone interested.

Boots Treat Street

If you live in the UK it is more than likely that at some point you will shop at Boots and have an advantage card but did you know about Boots Treat Street? You can collect Boots Advantage card points when you shop online when you visit certain website through the Treat Street website or using their new point’s booster toolbar which pops up automatically when you visit a site where you can collect points so one click and you’re done without leaving the webpage.

I use it frequently when I shop on ASOS but you can collect points at a wide variety of online retailers from clothes and electrical items to holidays. You only collect points on what you pay for, so if you return any items you won’t receive points on these but I have found that it really helps to bump up my points and then I can use them to treat myself to something special from Boots because who doesn’t like to get a little something extra?

Do you use Treat Street or any other point boosting website? If you know of any others let me know.

OOTD: Bonjour!

ASOS Coat, ASOS Bonjour Jumper, Topshop Leigh Jeans, ASOS Over Knee Boots, Mulberry 'Tillie' Bag, Michael Kors Watch, Kate Spade Bracelet, Kate Spade Ring

Bonjour! I've been so busy rushing around again that I'm constantly exhausted at the moment so I'm looking forward to my week off next week. I'm going to have some nice days out I hope down to Stratford and my beloved London {I seriously wish I could afford to live there}. I also have my birthday coming up during my time off so I may even get a weekend away but I doubt it as trying to organise my family and friends for day trips are becoming a nightmare.

Spring has really taken a turn for the cold in the UK after a lovely February so I keep having to pull out my OTK boots and jumpers. I was really hoping to be in dresses and shoes by now, or at least for the weather to be warm enough to wear sandals with trousers.

Hair: Growing Your Hair Long and Healthy

Jacquie Aiche finger bracelet, Michael Kors MK5878 watch

Growing your hair can be one of the most difficult things to do as it requires a lot of upkeep and patience. I believe that healthy hair starts at the root and with how your treat it as it grows, so I wanted to take some time today to share some of my tips on how to help get your locks longer.

  • Avoid heat – in this day and age everybody uses heat in some form or another whether it is straighteners, tongs or even just the hairdryer but if you can put the heat tools down regularly {or a least be sensible as to how much you use them} then you will do your hair the world of good.
  • Start from within – Vitamins can really help your hair and skin to be happy and strong. I would never recommend a supplement as a solution because a healthy diet will do more for you than a supplement ever will but you can add a supplement to a healthy diet. I’ll do a post on foods and vitamins that can help keep your hair healthy soon.
  • Scalp massage – while your conditioner is on in the shower give your scalp a massage for a minute. Hair condition can be affected if your scalp gets too tight and by giving your scalp a light massage each time you wash it you can loosen up the collagen in the scalp and increase the circulation to it which will promote hair growth and blood flow to the scalp.
  • Regular trims – even when you are growing your hair you should still see your stylist for regular cuts to freshen up the ends. The amount of time I have clients turn to me as say “I want just the ends off” after not having a cut for months is ridiculous and I always have to tell them that unfortunately they need inches off the length because of split ends and/or dryness. Ideally you should be having ½ an inch off every 6-8 weeks depending on your hair length just to maintain it while it grows.
  • Oil is good – especially natural oils. I always advise my clients whether they are growing their hair or not that letting your hair get greasy from natural oils every now and again is really good for your hair. So if you aren’t going out or you can style your hair up at least once a month go a weekend {or longer if you can} without washing your hair and let the natural oils condition your hair for you, you won’t believe how much of a difference it makes.
I try to follow these rules and luckily for me my hair grows pretty quickly so I hope they help you too. You can find my last post on how to avoid split ends here. If you have any hair questions or hair topics you would like me to cover on my blog leave me a comment and make sure to follow my blog on bloglovin so you get all my updates.

OOTD: Glass Heart

Warehouse Jumper, Topshop Spotted Shirt, Topshop Leigh Jean, Primark Boots, ASOS Bag, Kate Spade Ring, Kyusu Glasses

Its not often I wear my glasses but today I got my geek on. I've been running around again this week at a course for work on Monday and seeing Russell Howard in Nottingham last night to have a good giggle. I've got tomorrow off work as my day off from Monday and I'm off to see an advance preview of Captain America: Winter Soldier in the evening and if the weather is nice I would like to go to the National Arboretum as I haven't been down since before Christmas now. I'm might check if Chatsworth House as it is one of my favourite places to go, especially for a spot of photography.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to get a DSLR or if I want to try something completely new to me in the form of a GoPro camera as I would like to get into making videos more and if some of my plans come to pass I will need a camera that can handle a lost of video. I don't know what to do! If you have a GoPro and are reading this please let me know if they are any good.

Shop My Closet #2

Oasis Green lace dress, Topshop deep red pleat front-zip back dress, Asos Jumper dress orange with monochrome heart print skirt

Shop My Closet is back and this time I'm doing as much as i can in one weekend. I’ve been selecting old designer pieces that I just don’t give the love to that they deserve. Most items come with Free shipping and have been posted because of eBays free listing weekend so they are basically at a price I am happy with but if you do go and check them out feel free to message me if you have a price in mind you’d be willing to pay and I may adjust the price for you.

I’m having a major clear out, not just because it is one of my 14 for 2014 goals but also because I want to save up for an adventure that will be pretty spectacular if I can and getting rid of things I am basically just hording for the sake of it seems a good idea. This way they should go to new homes and receive lots of love.

UK bidders only really, if you are outside the UK message me on the item and I can try to find out how much it costs to ship to your country but so far I can't find anything cost effective for the items as of yet. Unfortunately as well UK shipping restrictions will not let perfumes and nail polishes go in international post either.

My eBay page is here but as these items get listed I will put a link under each image.

Let me know what you win!

OOTD: Love Affair

Topshop Tee, Topshop Checked Cigarette Trousers, Carvela Boots, ASOS Coat, Michael Kors Bag, Topshop Ring

My busy weekends don't seem to be pausing much, today I'm running from one thing to the next again but you know what they say there is no rest for the wicked. After finally getting a day to relax and have some 'Me' time last weekend I am at least feeling a tiny bit more refreshed this week. That whole 'Live for yourself' goal for 2014 really needs to start being enforced but at least I have started making plans.

I'm having a clothes love affair with these checked cigarette trousers from Topshop at the moment, they are so comfy and really different for me as I haven't worn patterned trousers since I was about 14 {I was an unfortunate victim of the 90's throwing bleach on your boot cuts trend} so these are quite a departure for me.

Review: Kérastase Elixir-Ultime Pink

I thought I'd do a more in depth review of this product as I put it down as one of my top products for 2013 and I’m really not sure that my mini review did it justice.

This is a really versatile product designed to nourish hair making it soft and glossy and can be used in 4 different ways, so there is always a way of using It even if you don’t have a lot of time. You can use it pre-shampooing as a treatment if your hair needs some TLC, I use a good couple of pumps on my lengths and ends so that my hair can really soak it up and leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing. Then you can add a small amount to conditioner to intensify it, use a small amount pre-blow dry and post blow-dry.

It smells similar to Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle perfume which I think gives it a really luxurious smell but for those that don’t like the fragrance might fine it a bit of a turn off. It is a thick oil consistency which doesn’t make my hair feel heavy so long as I only use a small amount. I find for post blow-dry I  need the tiniest bit of product as it spreads really far from a drop and because of how moisturising it is which is good really because it is not a cheap product but it is definitely worth it in my book.

OOTD: Nostalgia

H&M Lace shoulder shirt, Topshop 'Jaime' Jean, Aldo Heels, Vivienne Westwood Necklace.

Todays a bit of a catch up outfit post as I found the images of this outfit while going back through my photos from my Scandinavian travels last year. Unfortunately it just made me a bit nostalgic for an adventure and a little upset I don't currently have an adventure booked, which always makes me feel better. I'm going to make a move on that soon as I have had an invitation to go and join a friend for his sisters wedding in Rome {and I love Rome} so I may make a move on seeing if I can book that this weekend. So for now I'll just wish you all a happy weekend!

OOTD: White Out

Warehouse jumper, Topshop Baxter Jean, Primark Shoes, Michael Kors Weston Bag, Topshop ear cuff.

Today we got some sunny weather, which frankly is really appreciated after February being as miserable and rainy as it was and I am truly ready for some sunshine. Today has also been the first day I have had in weeks where I haven’t had to rush around after anyone else or plan something or go to a meeting so it’s brightened my mood too.

I met up with my friend Anne for a catch up and we went for a walk to the castle. It was great to see her again and her little one who is growing up to be a right little cutie. She always manages to put things in perspective for me {even though sometimes I don’t want to hear it} and today has given me chance to clear my brain of the fog so I can decide what my future needs are.

OOTD: Colbalt & Orange

Warehouse Jumper, Topshop Vest (just seen), Topshop Leigh jean, Dorothy Perkins heels, Kate Spade Wellesley bag, Topshop ring, Topshop necklace, Jacquie Aiche finger bracelet.

Life in winter is always a little dull so I brighted up a blue outfit with pops of Orange. I got the blue jumper in the sales and wore it to keep me warm on a recent night out. The start of this year hasn't gone as I had hoped it would. I seem to be running here there and everywhere for everyone but not getting anything done which means I am already failing on my resolutions. Hopefully if I get some time to think i will be able to get myself back on track in march.

Hair: SS14 Trends - Bob It & Gypset

Carrying on from my last SS14 hair report here are two more trends you may want to consider when styling your hair in the upcoming season.

Bob It
Bobbed haircuts are making a comeback if the catwalks are anything to go by. Personally I think Karlie Kloss cutting her hair into this chic shape has had a huge influence on the opinion of bobs too, let’s face it all of us with long hair think we will do it when we turn 40 or for ‘Mum’ hair to “save the hassle of blowdrying” but not so anymore. Chanel used wigs to give the models a 60’s flicked bob in a pageboy cut to accompany their colour make-up and models at Paul Smith, Steve Alan and Lacoste were spotted sporting this length. If you go for the chop make sure you keep it on trend by having a blunt one-length between chin and shoulder length. Fringes are optional but most bobs were seen centre parted with no shape around the face. If you are having a cut like this please keep in mind you will need to keep a regular 4-5 week appointment with your hair stylist to keep it fresh and the right length. If you dont fancy a chop try a faux bob a la Badgley Mischka and pin your hair into a roll at the back while keeping a bobbed shape at the front.

‘Gypset’
Gypset is a bohemian styling for the Jet Set so try to think of hippy hair with a polished finish. The Topshop Unique show seems to have coined the word by opting for curls and waves that look like they have maybe been slightly exposed to humidity with a rougher finish while Alexander Wang models got an almost second day hair with polish effect. Balmain went for a polished natural dry and Emilio Pucci left the roots and ends straight but curled the mid-lengths. The Gypset trend is going to be a bit wear-your-hair-your-way, so work with the natural texture a little and tweak. L’Oreal’s new Tec.Ni.Art Wild Styler in Crêpage De Chignon would be great for the texture of this look whether you wear it straight or waved on dry hair or to get natural texture while drying naturally and a later day booster Kérastase Spray à Porter would be a great product and is also an ELLE's International Beauty Award winner.

OOTD: Valentine

H&M biker jacket, Topshop viscose V neck Tee, H&M Leopard embroidered skirt, Primark red bag, primark boots.

I went out on Valentines day with my friend Jane and a few other singles for some fun. Ee decided just because you are single doesn't mean you have to sit at home and mope, right? I wanted to wear something fun but because the weather in the UK has been so crazy this last week I knew a jacket would be required which is why I pulled out this H&M Biker which I haven't worn for ages and for the life of me can't work out why now. We didn't stay out long unfortunately as the weather meant most people stayed at home {sensible idea} but I did have a good time and a cocktail which is always a plus.
